Stratolaunch

The Antonov An-225 is a large aircraft well known for being colossal in size, as well as the Airbus A380 or the Boeing 747, but few people know about the great Stratolaunch. And the Stratolaunch is currently the largest aircraft in the world.

At 73 meters long, the Antonov An-225 and Boeing 747 surpass it, but their wingspan has been unsurpassed to date: 117 meters. It is as wide as 65 cars side by side.

The plane was designed by Paul Allen (1953-2018) co-founder of Microsoft, to transport the hypersonics of SpaceX, thus acting as an aerial aircraft carrier. In any case, the option of also serving as a cargo plane would not be ruled out.

The Talon-A

The Stratolaunch is scheduled to launch the Talon-A. This aircraft will be of high speed (six times the speed of sound) and has been designed to carry out hypersonic research and experiments. With the vehicle you can collect data from the environment of the actual flight. This vehicle is prepared to obtain aerothermal and performance information that can provide valuable information for the study or, for example, the calibration of numerical prediction tools. Although the Talon-A is planned to launch with the Stratolaunch, they will be able to take off on a conventional runway.
